You can view all of our fees in the Massachusetts Investment Advisor Table of Fees for Services, a new disclosure document required by the Massachusetts Securities Division as of 1/1/2020.
Balanced Rock Investment Advisors is an entirely Fee-Only financial planner and wealth manager. That means we are only paid by you, our client, for our services. Our only interest is providing you with honest, unbiased, and expert advice.
Wealth Management Fees
We charge 0.75% annually of Assets Under Management (AUM), with a minimum annual fee for wealth management of $2,250. Unlimited, comprehensive financial planning is included in this service.
We are proud to say that we charge nothing–that right, $0–on 529 education savings plans and most Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) for our wealth management clients. This is part of Balanced Rock’s commitment to the long-term well-being and education of our clients and their families.
Financial Planning & Consulting Fees
We charge $200 per hour for our comprehensive financial planning service, with a minimum engagement of five hours. The total hours needed per planning engagement is determined up front and is based on the scope and complexity of the work we will be doing. To make our fee-only financial planning more affordable and accessible, we offer our hourly financial planning service to clients with a portfolio size of under $300k, who would not meet the $2,250 minimum fee at 0.75% AUM.
Wealth Management fees are billed quarterly in arrears, and can be deducted directly from your managed account or billed directly to you. In either case, you will always receive a statement of fees paid. These terms are described in the investment advisory agreement.
Financial Planning fees are billed half at the beginning of the initial engagement, with the final half due at the time the engagement is completed. Future updates and rebalancing are billed individually based on the scope of work to be done each time. These terms are described in the investment advisory agreement.
We accept payments by check, direct debit from your checking or savings account (ACH), and by credit card.
